some AMAZING beauty gurus that have inspired me to beauty blog :)

hello again my BEAUTIFUL BLOGGERS!

I want to take a mo' to honor some awesome chicks who have inspired me to explore my own world of makeup and just putting my thoughts about products that most of us couldnt live without out on the 'net...

I love makeup and beauty products because almost EVERYONE uses them... from lotions to shampoo to eyeliner to hairdryers... you name it!

All women, (and men too) come in all kinds of varieties... and in a world filled with so many differences I want makeup to be at least one of the things that people all over the world can unite in the virtual world of blogging about :)

Okay, blog pouring out of the heart over, lets see some of these awesome gurus :)

So these ladies are all people that I have watched for a while on youtube... another great place for people to look for beauty tutorials and whatnot :) They are so BRAVE to put themselves out there... I am so camera shy and I salute them all for a JOB WELL DONE!

NikkiPhillippi's channel-Nikki (im assuming this is your real name girlfriend ;)) vids are fun to watch, she is a very cheery little lady who is upbeat, and chipper :) Her channel is what got me hooked to BIRCHBOX, (more on that later) I love her sense of style and how social she is with her viewers, you can talk to this girl through virtually any social network on the internet :) She also cares alot about her viewers, she has a subchannel thats dedicated just for giving advice to viewers... super sweet!

pinkie charm's (Irene) channel- This girl is AMAZING! not only is she super cute and funny (not to mention SUPER ENTERTAINING) and bubbly, and SASSY (we like the sassy here) she has a slew of vids about all things makeup and beauty... another thing I love about Irene (dont worry, she has her name on her channel so I'm not revealing some secret) that I love is her range of products that she reviews... from high end department stores to drugstore brands, there is always something for everyone to try :) shes actually the beauty guru that alerted my attention to NYX... a beauty line that I could not live without. (more on that fun stuff later) THANKS GIRL! for your amazing vids and for keepin it real! this lady does not sugar coat anything, she tells it like it is :)

bubzbeauty's channel- I love bubz's videos, she is all about the cute hair and has tons of vids as well, she is the DEFINITION of bubbly, and she seems to be as much about the healthy and beauty at the same time... pretty original if I do say so myself... She also has TONS of cute nail tutorials as well.. this is one of the ladies that I have just recently started to follow, and I am super pumped for what's in the making on her channel :)

Again, I want to say thanks to these wonderful women for the inspiration that they have given me, I am giving you all a SASSY SALUTE :)

followers- I want to know!!! who inspires you?

peace, love & lipstick :)

ZENO hot spot? not impressed....

HEY THERE MY BEAUTIFUL BLOGGERS!

I hope you are all off to a wonderful week :)

So... zeno hotspot... ugh...

click here for the company deets

I have to say... I went into buying this because its pretty darn cute, my fling with the zeno hotspot started sometime over the summer but alas, it was just a fling, definitely not true love. $40 for a device is a bit on the expensive side for me ( little miss cheapo for you again). Which i reasoned by thinking that each use cost 50 cents... it made me feel a little better Zeno promises that it can heal 90% of acne in 24 hours... well obviously that 10% of acne is what inhibits my face...and when you get this puppy out of the package, (which if I do recall correctly, was a bit complicated) and read the fine print, you are only supposed to use it on certain kinds of acne... very complicated. And then, once you find a spot that you can use it on... it BURNS. I guess its supposed to be a good kind of burn because its "sanitizing" the spot... ? and then as you read further you may have to use the hotspot multiple times on the same pimple, so if you use it the recommended 4 times on the same spot you're up to only 20 uses? (if my mental math did not fail me) Plus you have to throw the whole device away after only 80 uses... kind of against the whole SAVE PLANET EARTH ideals. This device DID NOT cure my acne...

But even though it did not solve the acne spot in 24 hours, I have applied the hotspot to spots on my face after they had um, erupted (sorry, gross, I know). After the burning and redness went away, the heat tended to be soothing, because I get those sore pimples in sensitive spots, like the edge of my lips (sorry, grossness again)

so, in conclusion... SAVE your hard-earned $40 and buy something worthwhile for your face that's also good for the environment.... (shout out to LUSHcosmetics :))

I'm giving this a sassy <3 < hearts.

peace, love, and lipstick ;)

PRODUCTS I CANT LIVE WITHOUT- CLINIQUE dramatically different moisturizing gel

hey there my BEAUTIFUL BLOGGERS-

Here's a review on a product that seems like it would be out of my usual beauty budget (I admit, Im a cheapo) but first, you need some background info about me...

since 3rd grade, I have suffered from SEVERE acne, so bad that I have gone through COUNTLESS topical ointments and oral pills, even two rounds of ACCUTANE. (grody!)  So if I find a product that works for my skin, Im willing to drop some serious dough on it.

I used to have oily skin, but after the accutane (which shuts off your sebaceous glands that make oil on your face) my skin became extremely sensitive and a wierd combo of oily/dry.

Its been hard for me to find a good moisturizer  from the drugstore, because most of them made me break out, or had sun screen in them (im allergic to something in most sunscreens).

So one day on the way to my local LUSH counter at a macys near my town (more on that YUMMY STUFF later) I passed by the CLINIQUE counter and thought of my grandma, because she always used CLINIQUE beauty/makeup things. I stopped and talked to the lady at the counter about thier moisturizers and she told me about the gel version of thier normal moisturizer.  the gel is step 3 of thier little skin care line (ive never tried the whole shebang) its different from the lotion because its formulated for combination/oily skin like mine *insert snoopy happy dance* Finally, after some reasoning with myself, I purchased a bottle for $24.50. At the time, this was the most that I had ever spent on a beauty product. EVER.

But if you think about it, I only apply it in the morning after I wash my face and apply a toner. you get 4.2 oz. of product, so it lasts quite a while.

Plus, usually there is some kind of promotion where you get a cute little makeup kit when you spend $21 dollars or something like that.

So is it worth the $????

Yes :)

heres the link to the clinque website :)

BRAND BATLLE #1- COVERGIRL liquilineblast VS.NYC waterproof Eyeliner Pencil

HEY THERE BEAUTIFUL-BLOGGERS!

here it comes... my very first BRAND BATTLE!

*Heres how it works- Im going to review two similar products and compare them on price, quaility, qauntity etc...

COMMENT and let me know if you <3 this... or if you have any ideas for future BRAND BATTLES!

************************************************************************************

In one corner we have COVERGIRL liqulineblast eyeliner in brown

and in the other we have NYC Waterproof Eyeliner pencil in Smoky Plum (934A)

DISCLAIMER-Both of these eyeliners were bought with my own $ at a local CVS so these are my OWN ORIGINAL THOUGHTS about the products.

ABOUT COVERGIRL liquilineblast-

super smooth consistency- when applying this product it really does glide on like a liquid eyeliner
amount of product- while most eye pencils can be sharpened, this one is made of plastic, and no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to get it to twist up and push more product out, so Im guessing that what you see is what you get. Luckily, with this product a little goes a long way.something I dont like about this product is that it never really dries on your lid... it stays soft and smudgeable.
Its got this neato little smudger on the end, but unlike other COVERGIRL eyeliners, this one is made out of a rubber material. Its much easier to clean and can be used for other liners because of this.
the cost was about $10

ABOUT NYC Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil-
the actual eyeliner is just as smooth as its contender when the tip is not dried out, and It can be SHARPENED! the color is GORGEOUS, but I dont want to compare colors since I dont have this pencil in brown. I am always a little wary about waterproof products- because what do you wash your face with? (soap and WATER) I want to be able to get my makeup off when I want it to! I really didnt run into this problem though. The instructions on the pencil say to let it dry... I didnt really understand how you could let a solid dry, but it stays put pretty well!
The cost was about $4

One of my BIGGEST pet peeves about eyeliner is by 3 P.M. its running down my face, like any busy girl, I dont have time to worry about my eyeliner smudging. Lets do a smudge test. I put a line of both eyeliners on my hand, waited a few minutes to let each product dry... then swiped at them with my finger like what might happen if you had an itch your eyelid...(LEFT-NYC/RIGHT-COVERGIRL) While both liners might not be perfectly snudgeproof liquilneblast is almost wiped out... kind of a bummer!

So after rounds and rounds of testing and comparing, Im going to say that NYC Waterproof Eyeliner is the best BANG for your $
